SUBMIT A WORKOUT

Thanks so much for stopping by. Here you can find out more about sharing a workout. I hope this idea will bring more people onboard by offering a varied and diverse approach to health and exercise than is contained in any one discipline by itself.

I also recognise that you are probably busy and so I am going to offer a brief explanation 👉 here if you are short on time (and a longer one below).

QUICK VERSION

  • Either - record a 5-10 min video of your favourite training routine or use one you already have on video.

I will feature the workout on my site and in my Tai Chi academy (it doesn’t have to be Tai Chi, it could be fitness, meditation, qigong, walking etc).

  • In return you’ll get featured on my web site, on a mail-out to all my members, appear on different social media platforms and you’ll get access to my workout course (70 plus workouts there already to get inspired with). And if that’s not enough, I’ll also record something for you and your students.

LOnger Version: ABOUT YOU

Alternatively, if you prefer moving at a slower pace, then read all the juicy details here.

You may be a professional instructor, or you may be a student. The labels are immaterial. What is important is that you can present something in simple and understandable way for someone that has never done your discipline or practice before. Communication is perhaps more important that any other aspect. Without good communication, no-one will watch or participate.

So read the list below and if you feel inspired, then lets’ do it.

  1. Can you offer a 5-10 min workout in the field of health and fitness?

  2. Can you offer a perspective that is full of your character and insight? For instance, if it is a demonstration of a push-up or a squat, then let it be from a personal, approachable or more mindful perspective. In short, make it yours.

  3. Can you operate a camera? (A smart phone will do fine). The workout recordings should be raw and unpolished. No editing - just off-the-cuff dialogue and uploaded as is. See examples.

  4. Would your workout be accessible to all ages?

  5. Would your workout be safe for beginners? (No contact-sparring, high-impact floor-work or challenging burpee routines with ankle weights

POSSIBLE WORKOUT IDEAS

  • You may already have a workout recorded that you could share? If not consider…

  • Favourite exercise or drill from Tai Chi, Qigong, any martial art, fitness or movement discipline.

  • A Fave Mindful activity: I have previously included audio walks, standing meditations, mindful walking etc. All these are valuable additions. If it is an audio walk that appeals, then think about supplementing it with images to accompany the audio file.

  • Favourite Core strength exercises: Once more, safe, slow and focused. For examples and more ideas, read this article on fitness.

  • Flexibility or stamina workout

  • Something else? I’m all ears…. ;)

  • You can see a few examples of my workouts in the links section at the bottom of this page

AND IN RETURN…

You may be asking yourself, hang on, why would I record a workout for you? What’s in it for me?

And that is a fair question. The answer is three-fold:

  1. It’s about co-operating and sharing. Say the word, and I’ll do the same for you. I’ll record something, provide something for your students in the form of an article, workout session, form-demo or audio contribution. It’s good for everyone. Just tell me what you would like.

  2. Contributing a session also gives you complete and free access to the Workout Course. This course stands at over 70 sessions to date, and there is another 30 planned before the course completes. This will be a library of over a 100 workouts. Why would you want access to this? Well, it may serve to give you ideas about your training or class content that you offer. Perhaps you could mash-up some of these ideas with some of your own and produce something entirely new? Who knows? Check out the link at the bottom of the page for where we are up to now.

  3. Finally, although I can’t promise fame and fortune, I can ensure your workout is made available to everyone. As not all of my audience are workout members or course subscribers, I will make your workout public in order maximise exposure in the following way.

    • I will write a short feature on you, that will include your image, your web site, and your bio on a post on the articles page on my site. It will clearly include links back to your site or if preferred, social media profile account.

    • Your exercise workout will also be featured in a monthly email newsletter to my list (1000 + users) who will get first access to your session. This will also include links to your web site and/or social media profile accounts.

    • Then, the following week I will promote your workout on social media (twitter, facebook and instagram)
